SUBSTANCE USE/ADDICTIONS
Substance use/addictiond often begins as a way to cope with emotional/life distress, trauma (past and present), and other issues. For some, what started as a stress management strategy, a way to have fun, or a way to fit in, becomes a problem in and of itself. As the addiction grows it can lead to relationship breakdown, parenting difficulties, workplace difficulties/job loss, and reduced self-worth. ​​

Everyone is welcome at Sage Counselling.
It's important for people in marginalized communities to have a safe space to talk about their concerns - whether those concerns are related to sexual orientation or gender identity or other life issues. And it's important to be able to do this with someone who will not assume that unrelated life issues are connected to or caused by their sexual orientation or gender identity.
